Strategic Planning Focuses on Pursuit of Excellence

The Montgomery County Public Schools is in the midst of a multi-year reform initiative designed to raise the level of student achievement to rigorous standards of academic performance. Begun in 1999, the initiative incorporates long-standing plans and expectations for educational excellence in Montgomery County and provides new reforms designed to align the entire instructional program into a seamless process of teaching and learning from pre-kindergarten through high school.

Our Call to Action
The strategic planning process, developed in conjunction with parent, staff, and community input, has placed greater emphasis on consistency, continuity, and congruency in curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, technology, research, and operational support. Based on detailed strategic planning, the initiatives under way in Montgomery County are designed to achieve the standards set by the Board of Education and the newly identified state and federal standards.
